Hi, I'm Katy,

Fort Worth Boudoir Photographer

And I've Spent My Whole Life learning how to really look at people.

If you're here, you're probably wondering if this is actually for someone like you. Whether you're the right size, the right age, whether you'll feel stupid, whether you'll look the way you hope. I know that spiral. I've lived in it.
Lock and Key Photography is a distinguished member of AIBP boudoir since 2022.— top boudoir photographer in Fort Worth, TX.

Why Boudoir Photography Was Always Going to be the Answer

I've been behind the camera since film was still a thing. Over a decade in portraiture. But the past four years I've been entirely focused on boudoir. None of that was accidental. It was just natural end point of someone who has always been drawn to the moment a person forgets to perform.

This year it was confirmed that I do in fact have ADHD, but I suspect that there may be more to it than that, something I'm still working through. What I know for certain is that my brain doesn't filter the way a lot of other people's do. It notices. Constantly. And I do mean constantly. Patterns, micro-expressions, the exact second someone's shoulders drop and they stop holding themselves a certain way. Most people learn to tune that out. I never did.

The word for what I've done my whole life, in social situations, in professional ones, in most rooms I've ever walked into, is masking. Adjusting. Making myself easier to digest. I got very good at it. And then, somewhere in my late 30s, I started getting worse at it. Maybe I'm heading into perimenopause. Maybe I was just tired from always performing.

Unmasked isn't something I landed on as a brand concept, it's something that I started Living First

Lock & Key Photography WAS ALWAYS About Being Seen

That's where this studio came from. Not from wanting to make feel women feel transformed or renewed or like a better version of themselves. From wanting to make images that show someone exactly who she already is. Because I know what it costs to hide that, and I know what it feels like when someone finally sees it.

In a session I talk to you. I prompt you. I give you reasons to laugh (although my husband truly questions my ability to do that) because that's where the real images live. Not in the held breath or the carefully arranged expression. In the unguarded moment. The one that actually looks like you.  If you want to know what the day itself looks like, The Experience page walks through all of it.

Lock & Key is a private, woman-owned boudoir studio in north Fort Worth. One photographer. One client at a time. I built it to be the kind of place I would have needed, back when I didn't know it was allowed. I built it to be a place where women can shed the masks and just be.
